LILLA DAN

DET HISTORISKE SKOLESKIB

1951

Lilla Dan is a two-masted schooner. Lilla Dan was launched on 16 March 1951 as a training ship for J. Lauritzen's navigation school in Kogtved. The ship was named after the daughter of shipowner Knud Lauritzen, Lise, whose nickname was Lilla.

1961

Lilla Dan will be painted in the classic red colour for the first time after being black for the first 10 years.

1973-74

In the winter of 1973-74, the ship underwent a thorough conversion to a passenger and training ship with improved safety features and more comfortable facilities.

1996

In 1996, Lilla Dan's function as a school ship ceased, and has since formed the setting for corporate events, meetings, holidays and parties for both national and international guests.

2013

I 2013 blev Lilla Dan udnævnt af Skibsbevaringsfonden til “Historisk Monument”.
